Project Works:
In 2007, Lyric Notes (known as Lyricist at the time), began a poetry book that ended up being 60 pages total. Even though the book was never fully published, 5 poems from this book were recognized and added to two different poetry books, which featured many different poets. After 9 months of writing poetry, he contacted Austin Levy, rap Artist and founder of “The Hut Studios”. These two worked together for two years consistently, as A. Levy helped Lyric to grow within his art of music. Lyric created many singles under the leadership of A. Levy, which led to open mic performances at a local club called “Dreams” at the time. In 2010, Lyric branched out and started working with other engineers around the city. This was the year he dropped his first solo mixtape dated: 10/20/2010 and titled: Hip Hop Baby Vol. 1.
Lyric Notes continued to work on his art and ended up at “Palmyra Street Studios”, where he worked with music artists and engineer Dappa. It was at this studio, Lyric mentioned discovering a new level to himself with music. While here, he recorded two iconic singles, one of which is a wedding song titled: By My Side, and later performed for the first dance with his wife at their wedding. Lyric stated he reached a point in his music where he wasn’t happy with relying on others to do many things like record and search for quality products for his projects. In summer 2015, Lyric began building his studio and learning how to engineer/produce on his own. Since then, Notes has engineered and produced for eight of his albums, while producing for various artists around the city and country. He is known for his professionalism and music quality with the people he works with, becoming a master of his craft speaking out on community issues. Lyric stated that his major influences are largely varied across genres, but named the highest artist who has always kept him inspired. “If I had to name my top influencers, it would first off be the Great Tupac Shakur, Biggie, Jay-Z, KRS-One, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Doug E. Fresh, The Fat Boys, Scarface, Ice Cube, LL Cool J (I'm Bad Album), Eminem, Logic, Kendrick Lamar, Soulja Slim, Juvenile, B.G., Mac, Fiend, C-Murder, Snoop Dogg, Eazy-E, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Pimp C, Young Jeezy, Kanye West, Nas, J. Cole, Method Man, Redman, and the entire Wu-Tang Clan. These guys were rocking on my record player and Walkman consistently throughout my childhood to presently.” Thus far, “The Prelude EP” has been one of the highest performing albums and holding Lyric at the #1 Hip-Hop artist spot for New Orleans, streaming over various live platforms.
