About

As a young girl with big dreams from the "Queen City" of Charlotte, North Carolina, OLIVIA JOY grew up listening to the likes of Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige, and Beyonce. Another inspiration and supporter of JOY was her older sister, Honeh. JOY and her sister sang their hearts out as children, creating countless singing videos and performing for imagined audiences in their parents' living room. JOY always knew the pairing of performance and music was in her blood, but for many years, fear kept JOY from showcasing her voice. "I was terrified to sing in front of people, but once I realized it wasn't fear of others opinions that held me back, it was the way I judged myself, the game changed for me. I felt unstoppable." Unstoppable she is. JOY began her musical journey in August of 2022 and released her debut single and music video, "Let Go," in December of that year. She's written countless songs and performed on stages, such as the renowned Opry Mills Unplugged stage at Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, Tennessee, and other venues in her hometown, like The Evening Muse, Crown Station, Cloudcheck CLT, and more! OLIVIA JOY believes in her authenticity and is immensely dedicated when crafting songs from her soul. She uses her music as a vessel to redefine herself, as it has given her a sense of healing, vulnerability, and reflection to share with you. "I believe we were given gifts to share them with the world, so that's what I'm going to do. But aside from music, I feel the greatest gift I can give, is my authenticity."
