About
Artist: PREACH LYFE (Everette Vere Johns)
Location: Baltimore, MD / South Jersey
Genre: Hip Hop / Rap
Sub-Genre: Christian Hip Hop / Inspirational
THE STORY:
Everette Johns has carried the name "LYFE" since he was 12 years old, long before the world knew similar names. After years of navigating industry confusion with artists like Lyfe Jennings, he evolved into PREACH LYFE—a name that reflects his true calling.
But the journey wasn't a straight line. Rising from the streets of Baltimore, he is a survivor of the darkest corners of the system. After serving two separate prison terms in Maryland and New Jersey and battling the crushing grip of addiction, he knows exactly what it means to lose it all. God pulled him out of a darkness no program could fix. Now, free from the concrete walls and chains of substance abuse, he channels that raw testimony into "Righteous Music."
THE LEGACY:
Entertainment runs in the blood. As the great-grandson of the legendary Vere Johns (the Jamaican impresario who discovered talent like Bob Marley and Alton Ellis), Preach Lyfe is carrying a generational torch. He is merging that Caribbean heritage of musical excellence with the raw authenticity of Baltimore Hip-Hop.
THE MOVEMENT (THE GOD DID IT PROJECT):
Preach Lyfe is more than an artist; he is the CEO of The God Did It Project. This movement encompasses Righteous Music Group, the GDI Threads clothing line, and the upcoming God Did It Fest. It is a full ecosystem designed to glorify God through culture and commerce.
THE NEW EP: "RIGHTEOUS MUSIC" (Feb 20, 2026)
His latest project is a declaration of independence from the enemy. Featuring tracks like the anthem "Righteous Music" and the high-energy "Follow Me," the EP serves as a soundtrack for anyone transitioning from darkness to light. It’s aggressive enough for the gym, real enough for the streets, and anointed enough for the Kingdom.
