Epic 1, a producer originating from South Carolina, was deeply influenced by the R&B sound during his upbringing. Esteemed artists such as James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and others contributed significantly to shaping the musical foundation that now characterizes his style. Influential producers including Dr. Dre, Marley Marl, Rico Wade, 9th Wonder, Q Tip, and Pete Rock played a pivotal role in developing his approach to music production.
At the age of 15, Producer Epic 1 was a member of CDK Soul, a teenage rap group (out of Columbia, SC) named after its (members: Curt, Darrell, and Kenny), inspired by the rap group "De La Soul". At the age of 17, Epic 1 formed another rap group 308 Posse out of Charleston, SC. (members: Curt Ro D, Weezy the brown eyed Bandit and DJ Mike). After many attempts in his pursuit at a rap career, Producer Epic 1 found his true passion in beat making and music production. Motivated by the film "Straight Outta Compton," Producer Epic 1 transformed his mancave into a fully equipped home studio, providing an environment conducive to his creative process. A decade elapsed between crafting his first beat and the release of his first single in January 2026.
