About
LaQuarius “Quari Hitt” Edwards was born in Sacramento California on January 27, 1996. He is the son of makeup and fashion influencer, Tomara “Makeup by me Tomara D” Walthour and Elijah Montaie. Quari attended Grant Union High School completing grades 9th through 11th. He received his diploma from Vista Nuevo Career and Technology High School in 2014. Quari grew up playing instruments like the drums, clarinet , and guitar. At the age of 6 you could catch him beating on his desk in class ... He was always able to create a melody or unique sound off the top of his head. However, the day he actually starting to exercise his voice and rap occurred shortly after. Quari’s influences include Meek Mill, the early sounds of Drake, Lil Wayne, and a few underground artists. Quari found his own sound and started to visualize a career in the music industry. And without further ado Quari was prepared to make this journey on his own.
“I knew I had to make the music first and be good enough for people to even want to hear what I have to say. But once I started perfecting that craft I was still blinded by the hood.”
Quari added, “The streets weren’t really giving me feedback and that’s kind of all I wanted to hear between the ages of 14 to 18.”
Quari started to realize that where he was looking for constructive criticism turned out to be in the wrong places.
“I knew I had my own route to take. I started isolating myself and only hung out with those whom I knew was showing genuine love back to me...giving me the feedback I needed to hear... music and street wise. I always knew I would face some type of hatred/ confrontation with whomever it may concern. But I never knew I would have my brothers pass away in my face...in my hands. It wasn’t that I wasn’t prepared, but I was just a kid...still am in a way I’m still somebody’s child. I didn’t know when it was going to happen...I always had visions but couldn’t put a finger on when my time would come. I just knew it was coming. After losing my brother I knew I was facing things that could change my life and then...it happened.
June 6th , 2020, I was shot 8 times and survived. But I lost a younger brother I came with named Joseph Almanza known as ‘Lul Jody’. He was just starting to take off in this music era. So, I chose to take off [with my music career] with what energy he left with me and kept pushing ever since...”
