About
Quietus Khan was born in Waco, Tx. on the citys' infamous east side, in the citys' worst projects, the Pecan Garden apts. He grew up in a single parent household as the youngest of three kids. His mother did her best to provide for him and his siblings. With no father figure around and very few positive role models to look up to, poverty and the everyday struggles of urban living would soon lure Quietus into the street life. Soon He would be selling drugs and runnin in gangs. By the time he was in sixth grade his neighborhood resembled a scene from New Jack City! He lost his bestfriend to gun violence; was shot in a brawl at the local skating rink, and convicted for attemped murder all by the age of 17. But even during all the chaos and hard times in his young life, Quietus Khan never gave up on his dream to be a rap artist. From an early age hip hop has been a monumental part of his life; a true hip hop historian who respects the founders of the game - the old school greats! His reputation as a freestyle phenom earned him local respect. But before he could take his dream to the next level, at age 18 he would have to spend the next 8 years in prison. The 8 years in prison gave him all the time he needed to work on getting his life right and focus on his talent and God given gift - MUSIC. And in 2000, after 8 years behind bars, Quietus Khan was back with a new mentality and hunger to make the music work by any means... Now after several mixtapes, cameos, performances, and a classic debut album "Yesterday Will Make You Cry", which earned him the title Anonymous Legend by his peers, Quietus Khan set out to make the world take notice. His second solo album "Patience", produced by industry heavyweights Scott Storch and Cool and Dre was an instant classic. Texas Family Entertainment, the label he started and co-owns with long time friend D. Sadler.
Highly regarded as one of the few rap artists who laid the foundation for the historical rap scene in Waco, Tx., Quietus Khan is definitely a true Downsouth and Texas rap heavyweight.
Quietus Khan's music is gritty, real, soulful, spiritual, insightful, motivating and inspiring. Put simply, in the words of Quietus hisself, "this is the game and the gospel!" Quietus Khan and Texas Family Entertainment will continue to unapologetically represent "real life and real music.
