As the rest of the world has finally begun to latch on to Jersey Club and barrel forward at the speed of light, original Brick Bandits crew member R3LL has long been running things in his native Newark, helping to build awareness of his homegrown sound that The Fader lauded “the most deliriously entertaining dancefloor movement of the moment” and Thump, in a recent review of R3LL’s debut EP Directions, called “one of the most exciting happenings in all of dance music.” As one of the pioneers and breakout stars of Jersey Club, R3ll initially gained recognition for his sophisticated, official remixes across Cashmere Cat’s Rice Rain (LuckyMe), Lido’s Money (Pelican Fly), Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo’s Signs (Ultra) and Keys N Krates’ Your Love (Dim Mak). While The Fader proclaimed "R3ll's remix of Disclosure’s Latch is one of the best out there... gaining a psychical intimacy the original sought but was never allowed to achieve." R3LL’s highly anticipated, debut EP “Directions”, the inaugural release on the Brick Bandits label, showcased solid Jersey Club tracks such as Ponanay (chosen by Vice to soundtrack their documentary series on Jersey Club), alongside groundbreaking collaborations with Sinden and Riddim Commission, where Jersey Club came face-to-face with Bass and House for the very first time. The media proclaimed nothing but love for Directions, with R3ll universally lauded as the crossover face of Jersey Club and high-profile tastemakers such as Diplo, Annie Mac, Cashmere Cat, Nina Las Vegas, Nick Catchdubs and Anna Lunoe showed enthusiastic support for the New Jersey wunderkind. R3LL has released with Big Dope P on Nest and with Sinden on Sweat It Out and more remixes for Watch The Duck (Epic) and Drake (Cash Money). While headline tours across the US, Europe, and Japan have further proved the rest of the world has begun to latch on to R3LL’s unique, experimental take on Jersey Club. The genre is a continuous success oversea as well in the States, further proving the Jersey Club sound is undeniably going to keep growing and spreading. It’s inspiring a new wave of Asian producers, dancers, and Jersey Club music culture to also thrive and live abroad as well as it is back home in Jersey. R3LL is one of the 1st brick bandit original members to go there and spread the music. He also played Tomorrowland, EDC, and Coachella back to back. Equally, in-demand are R3LL’s DJ mixes; he’s expertly blended Jersey Club into House, Bass and Trap for Nest, Thump, Insomniac, Triple J and Rinse FM. In addition, R3LL’s set for Boiler Room saw record-breaking live viewers, and his recent mix for BBC Radio 1Xtra even made the front page of The Fader. 2019 going into 2020 expect all brand new music and tours.
