SALOMEA

“Art comforts the disturbed. Art disturbs the comfortable.” SALOMEA has been both — and builds music for people who need both, too. A majestic collision of raw alternative R'n'B, Neo Soul and a futuristic Nu-Jazz aesthetic — from Germany? A utopia turned reality. A manifesto of curiosity, courage, love, and gratitude. Featured on RnB Weekly and winner of the German Jazzprize. Artist and band. Vision and memory. Two things at once, at least — because why choose? A complex sound world and a phenomenal band. Vocals at the highest level, carried by lyrics that go deep and encourage exchange, not just listening. This utopia isn't a concept — it's reality, in the form of an extraordinary universe of music. German/US-American singer, composer and producer Rebekka Salomea and her high profile band, Yannis Anft on keys, Oli Lutz on bass and Leif Berger on drums, have built a strong following with their unique contemporary Jazz Electronica sound and stunning live shows. SALOMEA was recently awarded as Artist Of The Year at German Jazz Awards. They have opened for Brainfeeder artists Louis Cole & Genevieve Artadi, collaborated with artists like Salami Rose Joe Louis, Ray Lozano, Silvan Strauss, Moses Yoofee, Gianni Brezzo, Stimming, NDR Big Band & Oscar #Worldpeace as well as multimedia artists like Luise Zücker, Sophie Yukiko, Parissa Charghi & Gîn Bali. The band’s long term passion and persistence landed SALOMEA firmly into the European music scene, seeing them light up some of the hottest festival stages like Elbjazz (including an Arte concert), ÜBERJAZZ, co pop, XJAZZ, Berlin Popkultur, Jazz Open, Moers Festival, Cologne Jazzweek (GER), Chile Jazzfestival (CL), Tallinn Music Week (EE), Athens Music Week (GR), Waves Vienna (AT), Jazzablanca (Morocco) and Avignon Jazz Festival (FR) and winning them an equally passionate fan base along the way.
