Shakim Shabazz

Shakim Shabazz (Born Brandon Trimble) was Born August 2, 1990. In New Haven, Ct. I grew up playing basketball and always had a love for music. All my uncles were musicians; majority of them played instruments and played in a band. My Uncle Jahmal was my uncle who made me fall in love with rapping and start writing my own raps. As a kid I spent a lot of time with him and saw how he wrote his raps; I would memorize his raps and recite them to my friends at a early age. As a teenager I started to make my own music and play it amongst my peers. We would listen to them going to our basketball games or on social media “MySpace” at the time…that’s how I got my music buzz up but my main focus was basketball. Once I approached high school my freshman year and basketball didn’t work out in my favor I took rap more seriously but at the time hustling and running the street had my attention more. As a senior in high school I found myself in prison for a few years. At that time I decided to take rap more serious and here we are today. Never give up and keep striving —The God.
