Shorty Will aka Daddy Kool To make a long story short, Shorty Will is a Lyrical Artist of the Highest Order. When it comes to being an M.C.(emcee) he is a force of pure energy that will cause many to wonder and ask after becoming aware of his level of talent, “Who is this, and where has he been all this time?” Straight from the dirt roads and streets of Carolina. Shorty Will is a masterful storyteller that delivers time after time. He is a “Producers Artist”. Shorty Will aims to simply allow his magical voice that was once lost to be the final instrument on tracks that compel his artistry. When listening to any of his songs you will discover for the most part that Shorty Will’s lyrical form is not only for mature audiences and those who enjoy raw emotional poetry but also for those with an appreciation for his level of skill and sharpness of the craft. Whether it be on the deep-felt songs of his personal pains and triumphs or the war stories of his past and present self, Shorty Will delivers. He is a soldier that once upon a time his only prayer could only be heard in the silence of his mind. During a 17-month battle with Cancer he lost the use of his voice, and his hearing became extremely impaired for a period of time. Within himself he could hear the words he would speak to himself and to his Creator which were “Maybe I didn’t use my voice as much as I should have. Lord, I need my voice back because I want to hear myself making music again.” While at Duke Medical University in Durham NC, Shorty Will reflected on the fact that his newfound love of video production had taken the use of his voice away from those that would be inspired by it before the Cancer had taken it away from him. He was no longer utilizing all of his Talents. He had in fact buried the Talent of “The Word”. Shorty Will had previously made a move to the “other side of the camera”. For thirteen straight calendar years he left the Mic alone. During that time, he raised bull dogs while studying and successfully becoming Certified as a Television/Film Production Specialist. His drive and determination to create short stories and bring them to life was off to a great start until the Cancer sidelined him for several seasons. Shorty’s prayer was answered, and he kept his word to his self and to his Higher Authority. He went back into the recording booth. After 11 straight seasons of recording videos and documentaries of other artists and rappers in his neck of the woods Shorty Will recorded his first Solo LP titled “Long Story Short” to which he credits and appreciates Black Bottum Productions and also 28ent for providing the recording and engineering he would need to make an industry level record. Shorty Will is also a key player in a group of Artists from his neighborhood in Rock Hill SC known as “Together On All Counts”. Last but not least Shorty Will is also known as “Daddy Kool The Storyteller”. Often writing and performing tracks that are featured in the short films he directs. (Love Me Hate Me, Hat, Curtains, Broke Bagz&Cold Cash, Solid) Delayed to the big dance but not denied. Shorty Will is just getting started.
