Slick-One

Hailing from the heart of Lusaka, Zambia is a Hip-hop word-play Maestro who goes by the name “Slick-One”. Born “Chungu Katontoka” on the 1st of November, 1989, Slick-One has been on the underground hip-hop scene actively since 2011 when he was part of the now defunct rap group “G-5ive”, he decided to go independent in 2013 and has since released 3 mixtapes (C.R.E.A.M. Part 1, C.R.E.A.M. Part 2 and Legacy). These projects featured a lot of other young and super talented artists from Lusaka like Voodoo Child, Camstar, Kunkeyani Tha Jedi, F Jay, Nick Pro, Rap Nation, Caristo Clear (R.I.P), Jagari Chanda Jr., Chulu Ackres, Ollee Benjamin, Jasmine Kasoma, Rec Rymer ,C-Street, etc…. He recently released his debut album titled “The Inception” on the 4th of December, 2019 and he says this project is definitely his best work yet. “The Inception” album boasts of features from some Zambia’s finest Talents such as Voodoo Child, K.R.Y.T.I.C., TIM, Scott, Klappa Heiz, Kunkeyani Tha Jedi, Cee Thr33 to mention but a few. The first three promo singles that were released before “The Inception” are “They Know” (featuring Rec Rymer), “Zuba Na Mpepo” (featuring Voodoo Child) and “Call On Me” (featuring Koko), all of which have been received extremely well both locally and internationally so it’s safe to say “The Inception” is definitely an album for the books. The 1st official music video off the project is for a song titled “Sugar & Spice” (featuring Kunkeyani Tha Jedi) produced by Sarrz Beatz. The video was shot by Director Verb and Vic 87 of Cloud City Media. The song is Slick-One’s way of subtly warning the competition that he is not here to play games and just like the combination of sugar & spice, he is nothing nice.
