Smith and Connell

SMITH & CONNELL Joseph C. Smith is a composer, arranger, orchestrator, performer, educator, and college administrator. He is known as arranger for film and television projects that include: Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, National Geographic, Bull Durham, and Missing in Action 3. He was Kenny Loggins live concert arranger for 11 years before serving as Dean of the Professional Writing Division at the Berklee College of Music; and Professor of Film Scoring and Contemporary Writing and Production. He holds degrees from West Virginia University, the Berklee College of Music, and the University of Miami. He is a member of The Society of Composers & Lyricists, ASCAP, and the Los Angeles Musicians Union. Gerry Connell is a composer, actor, TV host, and construction consultant who studied piano at the New England Conservatory under BSO and Boston Pops pianists Charles Tinsley and Robert Winter. He is known for his roles as Lincoln’s Aide in Jumping Jack Flash, host of Better Your Home with Better Homes & Gardens, Discovery/TLC’s The Home Pro series, Broderbund Software’s 3D Home Architect; and 6 years as home-improvement/consumer contributor to Good Morning America. Gerry holds degrees from Dean College, the University of Massachusetts, and is a member of ASCAP, SAG and AFTRA.
