As his passion and dedication grew for writing, singing, performing and producing music, he himself grew as an artist. “I’ve made so many mistakes and wrong choices in my life that have done nothing but slow me down,” says Hendrixx. “I’m through making mistakes. I’m done feeling sorry for myself. If something’s gonna happen, it’s gotta happen now.” October 2016, Sonny Hendrixx released the Sonny Boy Wonder LP, receiving rave reviews from his back to back singles “Sucker for Love” & “With You.” Physical copies had sold out within weeks, and Spotify streams passed 350,000 plays shortly after. Hendrixx was featured on many renowned blogs such as: Thisis50, 40oz Heroes & Bring Ya Eh Game for his accomplishments. Sonny became addicted to a combination of substances which he began taking to manage the stress and anxiety he had endured in his mid-twenties. “When you can’t stand who you are inside, you‘ll literally take anything handed to you in order to change that feeling,” says Hendrixx. “I not only forgot who I was, but what reality even felt like… I never want to go back to that feeling again.” Sonny quit taking substances in 2014, and has championed being sober as one of the main reasons for his recent success. Sonny Hendrixx has already started work on new material for the next album entitled “.evoL,” a compilation of anti-love songs targeted towards past relationships, drug addiction, and life’s constant obstacles.
