Spliffy Mars

Starting off making music off of an iPod. Spliffy Mars was only 14 years old when he began making his first musical recordings. Bouncing back to back from neighborhood to neighborhood he claims his upbringing inspires his music today. He began making a way for himself since he was 15 as he claims he only had music and a few close family members that he looked to for motivation. Growing up around the North End areas of Hartford which is now to be said top 15 dangerous cities in the US and spending time in the suburbs before moving to East Atlanta at 14, he gained a lot of inspiration with all types of genres of music. He claims he’a been to so much schools with so much different people and backgrounds it probably basically describes his variety with his taste in music and style. Growing up listening to artists like Chief Keef, Nirvana, Kanye West, Jay Electronica, Future and Tyler The Creator are just a handful of his inspirations. His unorthodox catchy melodic type style is often compared to artists like Playboi Carti, Young Thug, or Chief Keef, but Mars has his own unique style and voice. As he raps and sings over hard hitting 808s and energetic ethereal melodies his music basically just makes you want to sit and listen so you can relate or get up and have a fun time.
