Born Shawn Stevens in Bronx, New York, but raised in Bermuda, Shawn had taken inspiration from artists such as Lil Wayne, T-Pain, The Weeknd and much more. Shawn had started off by playing drum-line at the age of 8 for a few years before actually taken on the music as an actual songwriter/artist. At about the age of 12, Shawn then began finding beats off of Youtube to record himself onto his phone. Each and everyday he would jot down little punch lines and metaphors so that he could put them into his verses. One day, Shawn’s phone had wiped itself and he had lost every verse, lyric and piece of emotion attached to his phone. He stopped making music for two years before easily returning to his passion. Whilst he was young and just starting out, he remembers recording at various home studio’s in closets. Things of that sort of nature has humbled him as an artist from such an early age. He recalled finally gaining enough confidence to step into a real recording studio. It’s stated by him that he used to save his lunch money everyday just to be able to pay for studio time. That’s just how serious he was about what many would call a hobby. To him, it was the beginning of a new start to be able to hear himself sound of such quality. Shawn’s main purpose is to make his audience aware of the lifestyle that he lives. He insists on continuing to give pure truth to his art to touch others because we all go through things. He feels as if he could speak for the young gentlemen and young women who are afraid to express themselves, but find comfort through music. To Shawn, music is therapeutic. It’s his getaway from reality, but not detaching his reality from the art.
