Tha Real NV is a 19-year-old Canadian-Jamaican artist born in Vancouver and raised in Ottawa, Canada’s capital. Originally focused on basketball, a career-ending injury led him to fully commit to music, where he found both direction and creative control. With a catalog of over 300 tracks, NV has developed a sound defined by versatility, melodic instinct, and emotional clarity. While influenced by artists like Juice WRLD, Lil Uzi Vert, XXXTENTACION, and Trippie Redd, he has established his own identity, bringing a distinct approach that reflects the evolving sound of a new generation. A self-taught engineer and multi-instrumentalist, NV records, mixes, and masters the majority of his work independently, maintaining a consistent and intentional sound. Recently, NV traveled to Los Angeles to take part in a 4-day songwriting camp hosted by Beatcave. During this time, he recorded and performed at Create Music Group, and worked out of IRKO’s studio, receiving direct feedback from music executives across both environments. While in LA, he collaborated closely with a range of engineers and producers, contributing across multiple sessions and writing on a variety of records. A freestyler by nature, NV adapted quickly in the room, bringing his flow and perspective to tracks developed throughout the camp. Now focused on a steady run of singles and select releases, NV is building with intention. Prioritizing quality, consistency, and long-term growth.
