About
T-Mac Musik
May 12, 1994 in the General Hospital of San Francisco a baby boy was born. He was given the name Taurean Lee by parents (Monica Mondy & Terry Lee). Since young Taurean at ( George Washington Carver Elementary) participating in plays and shows and has always appeared to be a entertainer, from dancing and laughing with his mother’s friend’s in their living room to having crowds stomping their feet and clapping their hands to his middle school graduation Rap (Willie Brown Middle) to preforming all over American stages.
Coming from humble beginnings, from the Southeast side of San Francisco Bayveiw Hunters point district near the old Army nuclear base Taurean loved to hang with friend’s, Family and listen to music. After his transfer to (Luther Burbank Middle School) he began to stay after school for the after school programs. Hiphop was actually a class in the program and young Taurean quickly took a liking to it. He started off DJ’ing and understanding the origins of DJ. Also he took on Graffiti Artis, Break dancing and Rap music. At this time music was evolving into upbeat catchy melodies witch influences young Taurean to become a DJ. He also took on basketball, base ball, foot ball and karate. His mother made sure to keep him busy and away from the San Francisco streets. From middle school he built long lasting relationships with friend’s who ultimately became his street team for his music later on in his career. At age 10 he had pervious experience in Film production and Music mastering at a organization called BAYCAT. Here Taurean got to understand audio waves and how they work he even started to make his own beats in the process of learning how to use these new complexities. This ultimately lead him to building his own home studio gathering his own records to DJ at local parties to collect money for his career that he planned on having later on. With his own studio and knowledge of mixing himself he took it as an opportunity to produce his own music video which he records and films all himself called (Gas Break Dip). Ultimately submitted this videotaped to the San Francisco school of the arts, they quickly accepted and he was enrolled. Not even in high school yet but Had obtained a acceptance letter to go. Young and DJ’ing Taurean Networked himself into a pretty good studio in the Fillmore District not too far from where he’s from. From there he actually started to experiment with his lyrics and quickly drew attention from other local artist. They began to do features and having Taurean along for the shows. After middle school with his new opportunity at the school of the arts, People in Taureans neighborhood cheered simple because one of them are clearly trying to make something of themselves. Coming from the area he did he drew lots of attention at the school and gained lots of popularity ultimately networking him into local high school shows and he was already a Dj so he used his DJ likeness to get his songs heard. Great form of promotion at a young age for him, with his new studio connections he quickly start releasing small one minute songs to see how people would react. His street team gladly help support and word quickly got out about this young rapper who was pretty good. Let’s speed up a little now young Taurean is preforming, recording and producing his own works and also had a back up professional studio to work in as well he was already in his way to becoming the artist he wanted to be. There was a problem though, people identified him as DJ Tman and he needed to change the name to totally separate the entities naming himself T-Mac Musik. Tmac at this point is gathering content and still DJing locally to pay for studio time and beats. Things were looking up for young Tmac but unfortunately one cold March night in 2009 one of his closest relatives and a member of his street team Damija Walls was gunned down in the late nights of 2009. This left young Taurean heart broken and lost to the innocent world he once knew, in response he acted with anger and hate ultimately adding up to his release “poppin” originally from “poppin - lil mama instrumental” in short young Taurean bad mouthed his cousins killer. This attracted a lot of attention to young Taurean, some not so good. People started to threaten young Taurean about the lyrics via MySpace where he released the song hitting 50k hits 1st month. He seem to be un moved by the threats he continued to do his music and networking while living on the Eastern-south side of San Francisco Bayveiw. Depression and hate took over young Taurean and ultimately lead him to dropping out of school losing his opportunities to go to a real arts high school. His mother noticed a change had to be made, the family set out for a small town in the east bay called Antioch, not to far from Richmond. This was a whole new world to young Tmac, he’s the new kid, with only so many family members around he ultimately became a networking guru. He hit up lots of local parties where local artist and producers come to preform and began to work with them. There were 2 brothers Willvonte and Dayvon George who took a liking to young Taurean and ultimately they began a label called Get Iced out records. The label was 100% independent but they had enough connections and knowledge to run such a thing. Mac day Dayvon was 50% owner of get iced out records and he suggested that they should release content for women more then men. The group agreed, ultimately adding up to their pipe down release which got them a east bay tour and ultimately meeting Eric Taylor. He was an investor for get iced out records and they were happy to meet with him they sat down and talked numbers ultimately leading to a distribution deal breaking them on world wide outlets such as BET, MTV, VH1 and Magazines, Many radio stations and even a tour with Bay Area legend E40. This wasn’t enough for the new label they started to conduct their own shows, selling the small venues out while hundreds still sit outside to meet them. Word start spreading that these young guys out of the Bayarea are on BET and they’re seen in magazines and interviews and shows. With great success brings envy and hate, one September day on the set of (Speed up Featuring RICO DOLLA) gun fire erupted leaving Dayvon Mac Day George dead at the scene. This event left Taurean lost and heart broken once again. Disregarding the fact Def Jam was giving them a pretty good look Taurean couldn’t believe the death of his friend, ultimately running the label into debt due to lack of promotion and content. Before he chose to walk away from the label he released one last album in 2012 called Mac City Musik hitting 1.5 Million Streams literally almost double platinum those earning were never received. Let’s speed up, After Dayvon’s death Taurean chose a more simpler life working at a local Walmart and doing security overnights. Deep down this is not what Taurean wanted, he was a entertainer not a doors men at a Walmart. Taurean needed a plan and fast if he wanted to do anything with music so he took on the opportunity to teach himself the ins and outs of the music business. For a few years he educated himself while working construction jobs and ultimately working at Tesla which introduced him to way more opportunities such as Real estate, stock currencies and overall a business guru. Taurean made a decision he didn’t just want to be a rapper he wanted to own 100% his own label and other businesses so in 2019 he launched 700 Distro his own publishing he has a CBD company and Merch and can now be heard today on all digital platforms if you stream the site below. He says he missed his brothers dearly and wish things were completely different. His new label was reported last March at 100k streams and just starting this year it’s looking great for Tmac in 2020.
