Véro Assata

Born in Oceanside, CA Véro Assata was drawn to music at an early age. She begin singing in her local church choir and though she was a quiet and shy child, when she would sing she would command a bigger presence. She later went on to sing in her Highschool Mass Choir, Chamber Choir, and Treble Choir. Véro Assata was eager to be like some of her idols such as Yolanda Adams, Brandy, Mary J. Blidge, Queen Latifah and Aaliyah. Her love for Gospel, old school RnB, and Hip-Hop encouraged her to write songs for herself. Singing is her foundation but that does not stop her from trying new styles such as rapping. “Mentally Distraught” and “Tap In” displays her Hip-Hop influence and depicts her growth as an artist as it pulls away from the more Neosoul/RnB vibe she serves us in “Rose Colored Glasses”.
