As an independent Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Entrepreneur, YOUNG Gii continues to make a mark for himself. The Bahamian-born artist moved to Chicago at the age of 17 with a dollar and a dream. It wasn’t long after that he began to call the windy city his home as he decided to embark on the journey of becoming an Entrepreneur. From being homeless, not knowing where his next meal would come from, he used his struggles and life experiences as a catalyst to produce great music, to perfect his craft as a professional barber and to running his own independent music label (Illustrious Visions Music Group, LLC). YOUNG Gii prides himself on his diverse style. From commercial to street, he tackles various hip-hop styles with ease. YOUNG Gii also sets himself apart with his dynamic stage presence. He prides himself on reaching his audience through powerful lyrics that touch on sensitive, yet actual issues he believes his people are faced with daily. Growing up in a single-parent home with a mother struggling to provide for him and his siblings, he, yearned for a better life for him and his family. With a new-found passion for music and a dream of achieving greatness, YOUNG Gii has set out to achieve his dreams. He has been hard at work as he continues to make a buzz for himself. At the start of his music career he dropped four great mixtapes, titled "I’m So Ill" hosted by the well-known Chicago DJ Sean Mac, "Step Into My World", “I Am Young Gii” hosted by the legendary Don Cannon, “iM sO iLL 2” and EP “Islands to The City.” After a string of highly anticipated releases, YOUNG Gii continues to keep the new music in motion. He dropped a 13 song, 37-minute long Mixtape called "i'M SO iLL 2" which consists of your favorite industry beats, a visual to his “More To Life” record, 3 singles called "All I Wanted" ft. Plug, “I Might” (which was featured on BET Jams) and “Damn It.” Along with videos for hits "Trippy”, “I Might” & “Damn It.” To kick off 2019 he drooped EP “Gyal Ting” which taps into his islands roots. Singles “I Luv It” and “I Need To Smoke” off the EP have also gained great momentum. (surpassing 400K views on Youtube) We are now half way in the year and YOUNG Gii continues to set the tone for what we can expect going forward. With his latest video release “Introduction” he proves that hard work always pays off.
