About
Mark Anthony McGaugh is an American DJ, Rapper, Songwriter and Record Producer from Omaha, Ne. Growing up in North Omaha, he always wanted to rap and adopted the stage name Jetson early on. He even released a few singles locally under that moniker. Eventually, he would switch, opting to adopt the name Buddy, which later became Buddi3 Da Gawd.
Buddi3 started his music career in 2012 with the release of his debut mixtape The Buddy Chronicles. Shortly after, he relocated to Tallahassee, FL where he attended Florida A&M University. While at FAMU, Buddi3 earned a crash course in the music industry doing promotions for various indie and major labels throughout Florida and Georgia. He also co-founded a rap collective called Infinite Cannabis alongside a few college roommates. Following a short hiatus, Buddi3 returned with his sophomore effort T.H.C: The Higher Conscience in early 2016. Later that year, Da Gawd moved back to Omaha and began DJing for local acts around the city.
In 2017, he followed up with his first EP SpeakerBox TapeDeck through indie imprints Classic Entertainment and Driven Creativity Media Productions. The album was well received and garnered much local attention. Buddi3 responded shortly after with The Buddi3 Chronicles II: The Lost Tapes, which released in early 2018. This momentum led to multiple features that were released throughout the year and several write-ups in local publications.
Since then, Buddi3 has put a halt to his solo projects to focus on producing and DJing. In 2019, He released two executively produced projects with artists from Kansas City, MO and Tulsa, OK respectively. In December of 2019, Da Gawd launched his own independent label N Houxe Records with his third executively produced effort Gawd’s Gifts expected to drop in early 2020.
