About
Jerry Townsend, better known for his producer moniker M-Eiighty was born on the south side of Chicago, Illinois. His family later moved to Flint, Mi where he then started to realize the type of talent that surrounded him. His Aunt performed with Frankie Beverly and Maze. His grandfather sung with Nat King Cole. His cousin, Cindy Herron, is a founding member of the R&B super group EnVogue. His uncles had a group named YoHighness. So the DNA was there. He just had to unlock it.
It was the year 1998 when he realized he was ready to apply his knowledge of instruments and the birth of Fingaprintz productions was upon us. The name was created due to the climate of producers on the airwaves at the time. KLC, Timbaland, Dr. Dre, Beats by the Pound all had unique styles and sounds. So, to be different, M-Eiighty wanted to have his sound mimic human fingerprints. Different, unique, specific to each human. So, he drove in every lane of genre. Not limiting himself to one type of sound, establishing diversity in different areas of entertainment. Approaching each challenge with a fresh idea from the artist requesting a new take on music. Creating his phrase, "If you have a vision, I can bring it to fruition."
Fast forward to current day, M-Eiighty now resides in the black mecca of entertainment, Atlanta, Georgia. Being apart of many business endeavors with multiple big name labels, M-Eiighty always gave back to the Music community by participating in multiple shows and contests as a Judge of talent. 9 projects in, "Eiighty" continues to deliver melodic tunes blurred with lo-fi sounds, progressive drum patters with a unscripted footprint. We are all waiting for what unique sound he will come up with next!
