MUSIC LIFE
Macdy has had quite an interest in music since the tender age of 10, taking part in music contests and being part of the junior church choir.
However, decided to fully pursue music at the age of 15 drawing inspirations from his brothers, relatives and a number of their friends who used to make music under the group "Young Clerics." (Also known as Da Clerics) Also from the music collections they gathered from well known artists such as Eminem, 50 Cent, 2pac, Nas etc
One factor that led to the ultimate spark in his love for music was when he met his cousin Bonaya A.K.A Buunchy, who was a Super fan of Lil Wayne. Macdy wanted to challenge him so he started listening to Eminem day and night as a result ended up falling in love with the art of Rap and Hip-Hop.
The first time he recorded was after his brother David, pushed him to record a verse on a song that the Young Clerics were working on, it happened and the song "Don't Cry" by Da Clerics Ft. Macdy came to be. In the course of the following 2 years and a half Macdy kept on writing and performing in school events which were commonly known as funkies.
Later on after Highschool he was not able to fund his projects hence put a pause on music, joined Riara University then finally dropped his first project in 2016, "Yule Msee Ft. Juju." Which was later on followed by "Bounce," a song well received for the good vibe it brought earning him a good reception in campus and it's environs.
The road has been a tough one, as he attended numerous auditions, participated in online competitions to no avail, at the same time couldn't fund his projects as a result loosing the momentum he had gained in the previous years, ended up taking a break from music again.
He later then went ahead to record yet another single titled The One, a song produced by FireOneSam, the song got him some airplay in the local stations and also landed performances on platforms such as the SportPesa Festival, Karta Festival, Malindi Fest & Mombasa Festivals alongside Kenya’s biggest stars.
His light continued to shine again when he linked up with FireOneSam and created one of his most successful projects so far titled Hakuna Matara, which is a little twist to the Swahili word 'Hakuna Matata' which translates to 'No Worries.' The song talks about the struggles of a youth and the self motivation to push on despite the challenges one may face.
The song led to the creation of a group of fans who refer to themselves as the "Macdy Family," who will stop at nothing to support the one artist they love.
