Salmin Swaggz

Salmin Kigondo, better known by his stage name “Salmin Swaggz” is a Hip-Hop recording artist, rapper and song writer from Tanzania. He was born and raised in Dar es salaam City, by his parents late Hezron Kigondo (father) and Asia (mother). Thoughts of pursuing music career started in 2006 when Salmin started performing Swahili rap also known as Bongo Flava music while in school. In 2016, Salmin was signed under Switch Music Group, a record label owned by a fellow artist Quick Rocka. This year was when he started working with a Hip Hop trio named OMG Tanzania which paved the way for Tanzanian trap music. Salmin was one among the artists who performed same stage with international acts on the biggest annual festival in Tanzania. In 2018, Salmin released his first radio single out of OMG Tanzania, featuring Mimi Mars, followed by a debut studio album - Days Before Christmas in December 2019. Within the first half of 2020, Salmin has scored features on major collaborations in the country; Serikali Kuu by Paul Maker & Bedroom Remix by one of Tanzanian top artists, Harmonize. Going through the final half of 2020, he's already on few new collaborations with biggest international acts such as Marioo, Young Lunya, C-Mart, Country Wizzy & Kaysha who owns multiple KORA & MTV awards. Despite working with big produces like S2Kizzy, King Luffa, Paul Maker and Ammy Waves, his passion for music and art has grown stronger in these recent years, as in early 2021 he announced the coming of his highly anticipated second album.
